Villa Monplaisant is located on a plateau on a hill which is known as the truffle mountain. Around the house is 13.000 sq mt of grassland and pine forest (own terrain) where you will have a lot of privacy. The villa has a private illuminated swimming pool of 12 x 6 meters with a wide terrace around. The view is breath taking; you look at the very old town (Bastide) Belves and you have long distance views over the valley. You are only a few minutes away from the supermarket, bakery, shops and restaurants. You can have such a wonderful time in the Dordogne valley that a stay of more than one week is recommended. The tourist information office in Siourac is open daily to provide you with a lot of information.

In the immediate area there are many interesting sights in the villages of Domme, Les Eyzies and Sarlat. If you like walking, horse riding or cycling, there are many marked trails to help you enjoy the hills and valleys for which the Perigord is famous, water sports facilities are also available. You can cruise on the river Dordogne and view the castles along the riverside such as the very famous castle of Beynac where they shot the film of Jeanne d’Arc and the castle Les Milandes of Josephine Baker. If you like to fish there is a great opportunity for you to make a good catch. A nine and eighteen hole golf court is easily reached within five minutes. There are many castles and museums to visit, fascinating caves to admire and special activities for the children. The Perigord is famous for its kitchen with typical regional food such as, foie gras, canard, truffles, strawberries and the delicious walnut cakes. Every day you can visit a local market and enjoy the home-made products and the fresh fruit and vegetables of the Dordogne. There are many restaurants for every budget and taste.
